‘Storybox’ 

Monday 17th February 2014 at 2pm.

The fun-filled family show returns once more to Groundlings Theatre! So close your eyes, make a wish and join us on a magical journey into the world of a young girl’s imagination.

Suitable for 3-5 year olds. Older children, babes in arms and those nurturing their ‘inner child’ also welcome. The performance lasts about 30 minutes. Following the performance will be an hour’s workshop with the cast.

Roots and Wings are proud to present their new under 5s production, ‘Splosh!’, adapted from the book written by children’s writer, Mike Jubb. Join Claire, Sam and their silly dad as they splish, splash and splosh around to their heart’s content.

James Bond Murder Mystery “Shaken and Disturbed”:

Macbeth (Blue Orange Theatre Production):

William Shakespeare’s murderous tale of greed, witchcraft and madness. Macbeth and Banquo stumble on three witches who foretell of great things for Macbeth. On telling his wife they realise that King Duncan is the only person in his way. Macbeth murders him when Duncan pays a visit to their castle, setting off a chain of events that leads to war amongst the clans, his wife’s madness and death and to his eventual downfall.

The Pillow Maker (Bright Shadow Production):

‘The Boy Who Wasn’t There’

Sunday 27th April 2014 at 11.30am and 4pm.

Nathan is a shy, smart young boy who loves computers and reading. He is also new at his school and, no matter how hard he tries, Nathan remains an outsider. Slowly, he withdraws into a digital world, where he’s a super cool ninja who is afraid of nothing! But, when reality starts to spread into his digital world, where does Nathan go?

Easter themed ‘Make a Play’ weekend

The Easter Bunny has lost his basket of Easter eggs! How will he deliver all his eggs on time?

Join Roots and Wings for an Easter themed ‘Make a Play’ weekend, as we help The Easter Bunny recover his basket. There will be a short performance to families and friends on the 13th April, including an Easter egg hunt!

1920s Murder Mystery Speak Easy When You Whisper Murder

Pirates

We're off to see the Wizard, the Wonderful Wizard of Oooze.........yes, something is a miss: Dorothy has a problem to solve, and it is not just finding her way back to Kansas. In our silly homage to this well loved story, there is a lion, a tin man and a scarecrow, but not quite as you know them, and not all is well on the yellow brick road. Murder, mystery and mayhem reign in this alternative pantomime tale- join us for the fun!

Back for the third year running the Brit Flick Film Festival shows the best in UK short films, features and documentaries. The day includes an industry insight with guest speakers from casting directors, producers, film & TV directors and actors.

'IF'

Rudyard Kipling’s life has been filled with remorse in assisting his seventeen year old only son, John, to sign up for duty in World War One. Many years later, an elderly Rudyard remembers his vain and desperate quest to find his missing son’s remains on the Flanders battlefields, and finally comes to terms with his grief with the help of a ghost from the past.

‘A Letter Home’

Peter and George are brothers and best of friends. Peter idolizes his big brother, even when George gets him into trouble. But all of that is about to change. It’s 1914 and war has just broken out against Germany. 15 year old George is desperate to fight for King and country. He makes Peter promise something that binds them together even closer than before.

Summer School

Taught by professional actors and directors working in their creative field they will work with

you on an exciting week long summer school. You will learn everything from stage

management to singing, dancing and acting techniques including a trip to see a show.

Umbrella Festival

Jonas Hanway was born on the site of Groundlings Theatre in 1712.

To celebrate the man who is charged with popularising the umbrella, Groundlings Theatre is

holding a two day festival of activities for young and old, with displays of music, arts and crafts.

Why not relax in our grounds with a light lunch and drinks available from the restaurant

or wander around the many craft stalls.
